RACE OVERVIEW

 

The TransAlgarve MTB Race is an epic demanding yet rewarding 7-day stage race.

With 5 linear stages and 2 circular, the route will take you the to the most scenic and unspoiled places of this southern region in Portugal.
Crossing all the Algarve it’s a unique test of endurance of off-road racing, with short but steep hills, and different landscapes everyday. Ride it Solo or Two-person teams, explore the Algarve, staying overnight in double rooms 4 **** hotels, in the beautiful host towns – an unforgettable mountainbike experience!

Limted spots available, as we want to keep organization and atheletes close and the relation personal. Unlike other mass participated events, this is a mountain bike adventure, to mtb lovers, made by mtb lovers, so expect us to be open to any feedback you might have every day, so that we can improve your experience.

The unique climate, with an average of 300 sunny days per year, the big differences of the terrain and landscape between each stage, will set this race apart from other races held in typical high mountains.
Still, don’t expect it to be easy, it will be challenging and certainly a mountainbike adventure you will remember.

Crossing the Algarve in 7 very different stages, you’ll find the region to be very diverse.
No stage is like another, from the eastern “Barrocal” to the western wild beaches and astonishing clifftop views, not even the mountain backdrop will be missed, as the race goes trough Algarve highest point, Fóia.

All sorts of terrain and vegetation, doubletracks, unpaved roads, technical singletrack, progressive climbs, steep hills, and most importantly a course that has been designed to be 99.9% ridden on your bike.

GPS guided, so you always know where you are, and where you have to go. No ribbons nor other physical marks in the course, because it’s better to the environment and and no-one can temper with it.
